T56 grinding when pedal pressed?

Hi guys,

The issue that I am having is that the clutch makes some serious grinding noises when the pedal is pressed a little further than 3/4 of the way. I can feel the pedal pulsating when it is pressed in. If I pressed pedal completely, the engine turned off.

What may cause this grinding?

sounds to me like the throwout bearing is shot, pressing the clutch pedal relieves the engine of load, it sounds to me like its putting the load on the engine at idle

Clutch Grinding

Mine did this same thing back in 2006 and it ended up being a throwout bearing. It only gring when the pedal was depressed so far and got worse day to day. I dropped the tranny, replaced the bearing with a used one and haven't had an issue since. Good luck....:thumbsup:
