HI All, I have a 95 Trans am LT1 automatic, Turns over but won't start. The motor was rebuilt, it started right up and I took it out driving to break in the rings. Everything was great. It's been in my shop while I was buttoning everything up on it. Over about a half dozen times starting it in the shop, it became harder and harder to start. When it did start it wouldn't want to idle, ran like shit, even backfiring some. now it absolutely will not start. I have over 40psi at the fuel rail, I also have spark. I've replaced the opti with a Petris, new ICM, New coil, has new Injectors. I've checked all my fuses and grounds. Vats have been deleted in the tune. I've tried using starter fluid to no avail. It doesn't even try to fire and I'm not sure where to go from here. PCM? The one thing was the spark at the plugs was orange not blue or white, but I haven't rechecked it since replacing the coil. Is there anything that would keep it from starting even while getting spark and fuel? I would think even if the injectors weren't pulsing at the right time, with using starting fluid it would at least try to fire. Any and all Ideas are appreciated.
Thanks Rick

Just went out trying to start it, when I rapidly pump the gas pedal it acts like it wants to start but doesn't. then I sprayed starter fluid in the throttle body and nothing doesn't even try to start.:mad:

Still not running, I'm thinking If I have fuel and spark that it's got to be timing. I've pulled and reinstalled the optispark multiple times, it literally will only go on one way, so I don't think it's misaligned. The crank turns the cam so timing chain is good (and brand new). Does no one on here have any ideas? Not one person has replied and I'm at a total loss. Help me Mr. Wizard !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

should be 43 psi
plug spark should be bright
ac double platinums go 100,000 miles
its high voltage system
its realy easy to screw up firing order
plug wires have to be low resistance
oscilloscope i had heck of a time getting right spark plug wires morosos were right lengths and numbered on ends but ac delcos are second choice
if you stretch a plug wire it unplugged
they have to click twice
sounds like plugs and wires to me
or firing order
check for codes

How'd you find the gas to be "bad". Im dealing with a no start after a good bit of my time and money trying to solve the issue. I read this thread last week and bled some fuel from the Schrader with my gauge. It doesnt smell awesome, its slightly dehydrated piss yellow. I did pour some on a shovel head and it lit right up with a spark. Im curious as to what point gas is deemed bad to the brain in my car.

I was working on a sand rail I recently purchased. Gas was red, I drained the tank, added new gas and fired it up. I watched as the red gas in the fuel filter turned normal. The engine immediately smoothed out, and started running like a normal engine. I believe the gas was very old and the red was Sta Bil. Before I drained the tank it was hard to start and hard to keep running, now it fires right up and idles down.

I don't think the "brain" in your car knows anything about the condition of the fuel...
