Just the switch and enough wire to get to it.

Pretty simple install with his instructions and yes if switched off the computer can still turn the fans like normal.

i did the install also, my dad didn't like the fans coming on in the 220 range so he decided to over ride. and also if you get a switch that is off in the middle and has two different settings you can control high and low fans. its really convenient when i get to the the end of the track just flip it to start cool down process.

Im trying to do the manual fan switch but I cant make heads or tails of shboxs diagram! Could you give me a step by step on how to do it and do it correctly?!?

I added LEDs to my setup so I can see when they come on and in case I leave the switch on. Also, anytime I see the high speed come on it forces me to keep an eye on the temps because that EWP is always a concern.

mine has LED's also, my dad also fabbed up a mount that sticks in the cassette holder. it made no sense to me why my car has a cassette holder yet no cassette player.

The blue wire you splice into on connector C100 is for high speed fans. The green wire on C100 is for the low speed fans. The switch is a dpdt which means it has off in the middle and 2 separate ons one if you throw up the other if you throw down. This way you can turn on either the low speed or high speed fans. The blue and green wires coming from c100 are the computer control of the fans. It is a ground rather then a power lead. When either the blue or green wire is grounded through the fan switch the appropriate fan will run. When the fan switch is in the middle off position, the computer can turn the fan on as the factory designed.

That helps alot but to be on the safe side a step by step would be great!!

Look at the manual fan switch connection pic in the electrical section at www.shbox.com There are 2 wires next to each other you will splice into. I use the self tapping slice connectors where you don't have to strip the wire, they are also protected by the plastic covering. The blue wire is the high speed fan control. The green wire is the low speed fan control. You get 2 wires around 16 gage, long enough to reach from the connector, under the hood, to the fan switch, where ever you decide to put it inside your car. You run both pieces of wire through the firewall, you can start inside the car and run outside or vise versa. Which ever is easier for you.
Once the wire is where you want it. You run a third wire to a good ground inside the car. You can use any color wire you wish, but I find it causes less confusion if you use the same blue and green for the 2 fan control wires and black for the wire you ground in the car.

Next splice each wire into the fan control connector as per shoebox's pic. Next you select a switch, here is where I differ from shoebox's wiring diagram. I use a single pole dual throw switch with off in the middle and 2 different on positions. This is because we are trying to get low speed fans on one on switch position and high speed fans on the other on position. The spdt switch will have 3 terminals. The center terminal is where you will put the other end of the black ground wire you grounded inside the car. The 2 outer terminals will each get one of the wires you ran from under the hood of the car. Blue to one terminal, green to the other. So after you do all that with the switch in the middle "off" position, turn the ignition switch to on. When you hit the switch to one of the on positions it will run the low speed fans, when you go to the other position it will run the high speed fans. Mount the switch in the place and orientation of your choice and your done.

What about the rsistors and diodes? Or are they unnecessary?
