First of all I have a 96 chevy impala ss and when I bought it the dash wasn't working when you start the car up the lights flicker like cop lights until you udjust the dimmer on the panel but then the gauges quit working, had a local mechanic look at it and he couldn't narrow it down but he says it not grounding out some where he check all of the usual places and nothing. Now I have another problem the car is not responding like it should it sputters and quits and fires right back up went to Auto zone to scam it came back with o2 censor bad and two other circuits bad if anyone has had these problems your assistance will be greatly welcomed:bump::bump::bump:

OK........First off, you have a 96 Impala (welcome to the club ;) ). One of the 'issues' with these cars is that the odometer lights are notorious for fading completely out.

Now, you can remove the dash insert and re-solder the connections, but I'd be damned if I knew just where to solder :( .

As for the O2 sensors; these things tend to go bad around 50K to 60K miles......no big deal. New ones will cost about $35 to $40. Ordinarily, these can be swapped out in your driveway; but if they've seized in the manifold, it'd be best to let a garage deal with it.

Can't speak to the other bad 'circuits' since you haven't mentioned what they are.

but if they've seized in the manifold,
The O2 sensors are in the Manifolds?

Have you checked the Prices of AcDelco O2 sensors lately? Sky high. what ones are you talking about at $40?
