A tick/clanking coming from around the torque converter/ inspection plate cover area only at IDLE.
A dull sound when the engine decelerates from a rev in park.

When I put the car in D and hold firmly on the brake pedal, I can raise the RPMS to 900 and create a loud vibration that comes from that same torque converter area.

Sound like a cracked flexplate to you? What symptoms did you have with yours?

The first 15 second IDLE of this video sounds very similar to the noise I hear. However it doesnt get louder or sound near as loud as the one in this video.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtK_IFA3OVw&feature=related
The whole car is stock and has the stock headers. But I'll check to make sure they arent rubbing or anything. I took it to a shop last week suspecting loose torque converter bolts. They sat me down and told me they thought it was a wrist pin! I have my doubts since it only has 93k and has had regular oil changes.

A wrist pin noise on a factory engine is pretty much unheard of, now if it had been rebuilt, then ok. If you pull off the inspection cover and unbolt the converter and push it to the trans you can put a light up there and you should be able to see any cracks on the flexplate.

OK here are some videos I took today (sorry about the crappy quality)

This video is with the car warm and you can really hear the noise when the camera is under the car http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEkk7xrIgO8

This video shows the bad pulsing vibration that seems to be coming from under the console/ flexplate area when in D with the foot on the brake and raising the RPMS to 900 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJf8j_JXTko

*The noise isnt as loud in these videos vs real life due to a shitty camera*

that interesting! doesnt really sound like a bearing to my ear, so thats good... can you get the car in the air and pull the inspection cover? its 4 8mm (or 10, cant remember) and it drops right down. from there you can see if all the bolts are tight and with a flashlite you should be able to see enough of the flexplate to see if there are any cracks

I just replaced my flex plate recently. Car was making a ticking noise but not all the time. I put the car up on jack stands started the motor and crawled underneath. The ticking noise was coming from the torque converter area. Even with the torque converter unbolted and slide back it was very hard to see the crack. The crack was in between the crankshaft mounting bolt holes. After removing the flex plate and looking at it I still could hardly make out the crack but that ended up being the problem.

Did you notice any vibration or anything? Do you have to pull the transmission to replace the flexplate?

I'm looking at it tonight after school and work. Sometimes I get this bang/clunk noise when letting off the gas and then when I put my foot back on the gas. Its always light throttle never under heavy throttle.
