i had the ultra z on my red 94... i liked it mainly because i got the full functioning ram air with mine so it was rare to see a lt1 z with an air box... i got several compliments on it.. but this was back when it first came out so nobody had one... now on my 95 if i would be in the market for a hood i would probably go with a ss... i know mine isnt a ss but its a good hood... not too flashy... no big cowl to look over.. plus all the cowls ive seen are pretty squared off and i dont think the squared off edges go with the smooth lines of a 4th gen

Is the sunoco hood the one that is wide? I seen a hood somewhere that is wide and more stepped (like the newer Mustang hoods) is that the one? If not do you guys know the hood that is wide like that for the 4th gens? Like SlowpurpleLT1 said above, alot of the 4th gen cowl hoods do look too squared off, but the one i'm talking about looks awsome and flows really well with the lines of the car, just can't remember where I seen it or who makes it...sorry to hijack the thread

another vote for sonoco. it is a3in cowl i believe, but the sides are rounded instead of being sharp. hard to describe, but beautiful.

the sunoco hood does look good on a 4th gen.... like i said... most cowls dont go with a 4th gens body lines but that one in the pic looks nice and smooth
i agree. the regular cowl hoods just dont look right to me. especially on ls1's. but the sunoco hood looks badass. but i like the ultra-z a lot to.

You're thinking of the Mike Moran hood.

I say cowl although I have the big block hood.

i always thought those were called "stinger" hoods, i think those look bad ass on the LT1 body style and older
