so you went from a a4 to a m6? how difficult was this? How much down time is there? And how much did it cost to make the change? I keep hearing the 6 speeds are better than the automatics. So im CONSIDERING the change in about a year and a half when the motor is done.

What is the power handling of those trannys?
M6 is more fun, but if the main goal is drag racing stick with the automatic...trust me on that.

Its not a hard swap at all...depending on how much you spend on a clutch it will run you $1500-$2500 for everything.

We did mine 1.5 days. The T56 can hold 450ft-lbs rated....many survive much more than that. Be forewarned though...a good clutch and T56 = start saving for a 12-bolt or Ford 9"....I learned that the hard way.

There are plenty of people out there willing to do it. I'm going from M6 to A4 next month.

After having done numerous mods to my street car (98 TA) which includes BIG brakes, balanced motor, big cam, headers, 315s on all 4 corners, full LGM suspension ...

and

after building a Camaro/Mustang Challenge road racing car (96 TA) I would have to say the most impressive modification has been weight reduction.

My 98 weighs in at a portly 3800 while the CMC car weighs less than 3000 ... HUGE difference in the way the car feels ...
