I am going to replace my tires soon and I wanted to make sure Im getting the correct size. The reason Im asking is the size thats on the car now are 235/55-16, however the tire size on the door jamb says 245/50-16. I guess the PO got new tires a while back and thought 235s were cheaper IDK. Ive already used my free allotment on compnine, so I cant run my VIN through and see what was on there, the RPO codes on the door dont help any with tires(I already checked each and every code) another thing I noticed(not sure of its relevance) my last 96 TA had 160mph speedometer(this car had 245s on it) and the 1994 TA I had years ago had the 120mph speedometer(that car came originally with 235s)My current 2000 Formula has 160mph speedo. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Just for drill do you have RPO code QLC or QMT . The stock no-cost F-Body tire was 225/55/R16, below were Camaro optional tires, FB TA s/b the same, note the sticker cost was back 19 years ago.

QLC Tires, P245/50ZR16 Blackwall (optional w/ Z28) $225.00
QMT Tires, P235/55R16 Blackwall (no cost w/ Z28) $132.00
