I bought this car the second day i returned home from Oversea's with the US Army. The first day we had to account for everything and they don't let ya leave until it is.... so im in Washington State surfing the net for that perfect car to set me free, and after only 5 hours of searching the second the car popped up - It was a love at first sight, a Beautiful Trans Am sitting on a dealer lot in Portland, i took the bus down to Portland the next day , Taxi to the dealer. I saw it sitting on those 5 foot tall "show off ramps", at that point i knew there was no reason to keep the cab - paid my tab and sent him on his way. I crawled under looking for rust , sign's of an accident .. anything i could find. The car was in awesome condition for 68,000 miles ... Walked inside asked to drive the car , the dealer said ahh that car is already sold... someone came in and put down 1,000 to hold it for him until today .. I was crushed! So i waited until the couple came in , This beast of a car was actually for his wife! She didn't even like it , she wanted a mustang she saw the one she wanted in the lot next door , they weren't there for 5 minutes the guy came back picked up his money, As i immediatly put mine down. He pulled it down off the rack, i sat in the seat revved it a few times , i went on the test drive got sideways leaving out the lot , ran it up to 3rd gear maybe 80 mph.The salesman's hands gripped the OH Sheet door handles as i fell in love. I turned around sideways again ... pulled into the lot , as is said clean it up - it's mine ! Two hours later , I am leaving the lot .

This is how it looked when i bought it -

Now the first weekend i had it i had to know what this machine would run.So i took it to Portland International Raceway where it ran a 13.5 at 99 mph. Anyone that knows me knows fast is never fast enough. So immediately i started taking out extra weight such as spare tire and jack found another car ( i could'nt use it anyways with the custom wheels ) I was happy in Oregon but my best friend growing up's mom was in the hospital and was lost her battle with Cancer, so i was on a mission to get to the funeral. Portland Oregon to Memphis in 40 hours before the funeral. Plenty of red bull and driving through nebraska where next exit 30 miles sign made my right foot tingle where i just had to make sure that the speedometer was working correctly and yes , it would wrap all the way around til the needle met the needle holding it to 155 !!! Did i say i love this car ? Yea .. i mighta mentioned it ! I decided once i got to Memphis , I was home.

Now, ive never been one for "Bling" , so the 16 inch Neeper wheels that were cool in the 90's had to go. Now i wasn't making that much money back then running a Jiffy Lube and National Guard one weekend a month - Insert the love of my life, Julie aka Transamgurl. So for my Birthday she got me the sexy 17x9.5 ZO6 wheels and Fuzion ZRi 275/40/17 tires all the way around. Now at stock height they needed some help hugging the road. So i bought some 2" Lowering springs combo'd them with KYB AGX adjustable struts and shocks. Wasn't very long after i had it the head gasket's blew - Now with the heads already off and those manifolds looked ready to come off, So i installed some Pacesetter Long tubes -no emmision's , called Herron Performance

along with these EGR block off plates

I had it tuned by PCM's for Less, And wow the diffrence in performance and sound was amazing. Took it to Memphis Motorsports Park and ran a 13.2 at 102 . I was bitten by the performance bug. I was loving the go power , braggin about how great my big V8 was, then i was beat by a heavily modded Dodge Neon SRT-4 with 400hp , Now this won't do -I mean 5.7 vs 2.0 Turbo , this aint right nor will it do. So now i went to a performance shop and asked for a mean stroker 396 cubic inches of raw power,Forged Pistons,Lunati crank , Edelbrock Heads i bought from a speed shop here in Memphis at a steal were sent to my buddy at Powerhouse Performance along with the Intake to port and gasket match , the Heads flowed an amazing 255 at .500 ! Put a cc503 in roller chain, put in the call to Herron Performance for a 58mm Throttle body-https://securehost98.hrwebservices.net/~herronp/store/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=122 This combo netted 437 rwhp at the rear wheels, Time for a Nitrous kit ain't it ? Nitrous Outlet's 58mm throttle body spray kit ,http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog/product_details.asp?group=35&model=51&dept=11&product_id=2808 mix that with C12 (112 octane) and we reach the 867rwhp. Now what's HP if you aren't getting it to the Ground ? Exactly , Time for a clutch Spec stage3+ http://www.specclutch.com/cart some strange shocks for the rear https://securehost98.hrwebservices.net/~herronp/store/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=162 ,SJM Adjustable LCA's https://securehost98.hrwebservices.net/~herronp/store/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=103 UMI Panhard Bar https://securehost98.hrwebservices.net/~herronp/store/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=59 Replaced the header's with Dynatech's LT , 18 inches of pipe into Moroso stainless spiral flow muffler's and dumped em!Racetronix 255 Fuel pump with Booster Kit, But if im making all that power i dont want it tearing off part's of my T56 so i opted for the Relocated Tq. Arm with a driveshaft loop . And once more i went to Shon for some special order 275/40/17 MT Drag Radial's .. best time N/A 12.18 @ 118mph on the spray .. 10.20 @138mph Slipping and sliding down the track ---- the last time she was out she killed the 10 bolt rear-end "who would have thought right ?" More mods to come so here are some pics and video to tie ya over until then.MODS TO COME>>UMI Stage 5 Tubular Front K-member,Upper&Lower A-Arms and Moser 9" rear-end

Thanks man, i used to write articles for Fastest Street Car Magazine , in the Car show portion.
I remember seeing you mentioned in the GMHTP issue that covered the LTx Shootout. Didn't realize you were the one stopped while trailering your car:roflmao: Another one for how the hell is that 10 bolt holding up?
