Thrust bearing issue

Having my motor looked over before new rings and main bearings. Oe spec is 003 to 007 for the thrust bearing and mine is 017. I can't find one for sale in Spec... I need guidance.

Have you tried a different crankshaft to see if it's in spec. Wear on crank would cause the new thrust bearing not to be in spec.

My engine guy said he called a few places and they told him that the thrust bearing they sell could be anywhere between 003 and 019.

So much for consistency in manufacturing.!!! However I really dont think that a bearing mfg's quality control is that far off. They may make a main
brg. set with oversize or undersize tols. though. ed
