Hey i probably put this in the wrong place so im sorry but i was just wondering what you guys have ran your stock LS1 to (in the 1/4).
I ran a 13.4 in a Z28 sixspeed a while back and just wanted to know how the rest of you did.

I ran 14.0 @ 99mph stock back in 1997.

when the SS was totally stock, I got a best of 12.94 @110.xx w/2.07 60'. Although, I did have the air filter removed. Anyways, a few of the members here can verify it. The car ended up going 12.66 @112.xx on a 2.00 60', with nothing more than a lid, cutout, and free mods. That was an 8.20 in the 1/8 mi, which on the next pass, I cut a 1.97 60', went 8.17 in the 1/8, and missed 4th. :( Never got another crack at beating those times before the heads/cam/intake/exhaust/etc..

I ran a consistent 13.3,but my best ever stock was 13.17 on street tires. I went 12.98 on slicks.

Totally stock my car ran 14.2 @ 98 first time ever to the track, but I had broken a bolt on the exhaust manifold where it bolts to the y pipe the night before and so I had a slight exh leak.

The next time I went back was with a K&N, smooth bellows and a dynomax ultraflow in place of the stock muffler and it did 13.8 @ 100.3

When I got the car 7 years ago it was stock except for an open element air cleaner and removed cat. It ran 16.0@85 all day. That was a 305 LG4/700r4/3.23 open car.

So far I have shaved 3.9 seconds off and added 29mph.:D

I had a brand new 99 Trans Am for a short while. Had NEVER been on a dragstrip before, had NEVER owned a manual tranny car before.

After a month of ownership, went to Sears Point: Resulted in a 13.53@105 on my third ever run with a 2.17 short time, with about 1K miles. Then in January that year, went to Sacramento Speedway and went 13.51@107 on a 2.14 short time. This was with a 100% stock 99 car, paper air filter and Eagle GS-A tires.

Closest to stock I've ever run my black car was with a K&N CAI and B&M Ripper with WS6 wheels and SZ50 tires and a flowbastard muffler. Resulted in a 13.99@99.9 with a 2.22 short time at Sacramento Speedway in the dead of summer. A year and a half later with only the addition of a new clutch and hypertech coil and a gutted cat, went 13.632@102.32 on a 2.14 short time at Atco Raceway.

Never ran BONE stock. But did run with lid and FRA. Ran 13.3 @ 108 with a 2.16 60' on a 90* day with 80%+ humidity. 2002 M6 Z28 with GSCs. Second run in my life. No burnout or anything.

i have a 96 z28 6spd that as far as i know is stock, the intake was stock and so was the exhaust .a week after buying it all i did was pull the muffler off and i was running consistantly 13.40 - 13.60 all day at the track. i was just wondering if that seems weird to anyone becuz i was told the best a stock lt1 can run was 14.00.

The time slip sez:
60'........2.107
330.......5.821
1/8.......8.818
MPH......82.97
1000.....11.348
1/4.......13.492
MPH......105.34

This was on stock RS-A tires (2.73 gears) @ Firebird in Phoenix. Temp was around 85* and DA was around 2600'. Car had Volant lid and I had put on a QTP electric cutout which was open.

When I get the headers (1 3/4 QTP's) and gears (3.73's) on I hope to see 12's with sticky tires.

I ran a 13.81 @100.96 when there was about 2k on it, untouched..I went back to the track and took out the 1 10mm bolt (not much easier than that!) and headlight (D/S) came out (Factory air intake sits right behind it?? why I can't figure it out either) but the car now has 2800mi on it and it ran a 13.68 @102.37 & more importantly ran 2 13.7's a .70 & .72 over 102mph and 5!!! 13.8's, this car is only getting faster w/age! 60's are horrible 2.09 2.13 when I ran the .81 it was down to 2.06 & 2.02...Almost there!! this from a car that was supposed to be a "mid" 14sec car!!! we have numerous GXP's in the 13's already, so far no mods that make a difference are available (only K&N drop in) but I'm still runnin AC/Delco!! car is 3805lb W/Driver
Slip
60' 2.095
....330' 5.779
.....1/8 8.838 @80.36
....990' 11.398
.....1/4 13.685 @102.37

The car had a K&N panel in it when I bought it. Best I did in August down at Cecil County was a 14.38 with the headlight in and a lil wheel spin.

My car went 13.35 @ 108 w/ a 2.25 60" my first time at the track with it. I had only had the car 3 days by this point. Having never raced a m6 at the track... It had a lid when I got it though... and I added a cutout the day of the track... so times are w/ lid and cutout

Mid 13's is not too bad for an LT1. It's very unusual for them to run that stock though. Are you sure it doesn't have maybe an LT4 intake intread of an LT1 intake?
Unless you're saying maybe it has an LT4 in it the LT4 intake alone is worthless on an LT1.

Methinks there's some mods on that guy's car to run that fast.

My first time at the track lo those many years ago netted 14.2's at 98mph. With an exhaust manifold leak fixed and a muffler the car went 13.82 @ 100.8 a couple months later.

To Stockz Junior member,

Thats impossible your 96' z28 6spd ran 13.4 - 13.6 in 1/4 mile. I have 97' ss LT1 and heard it's capable of running 14's flat in 1/4 mile. I havent tested it at the track yet, but Im sure its quick cuz I beat a 97' M3 racing on I-80 freeway the other day. My brother used to have a 89' 5.0 GT stang and his stang ran high 13.8's @ the track with all the mods such as ported head, new rocker, springs, and peformance components and 3.73 posi gears. I remember riding with him. His car feels as fast as my stock 97' SS. Its possible to run high 13's with a stock LT1. I know LS1 are capable of running low 13's and high 12's. There's proof of that in GMHighPerformance magazine that a stock 2002 SS can run high 12's in bone stock trim
