Im in the process of building a motor for my 93 camero z28 , doing a 383 pretty healthy but nothing over the top, been on back burner for a little while, can a speed density car run as good as a mass air is my question , having a chip burned to suit my application would be a hell of alot cheaper then doing a mass air conversion just need some advice from fellow Lt1 owners

yes, definitely. in fact a good speed density tune will outperform a MAF setup in my experience.

a good speed density tune should cost more. it takes way, way more work to get it right.

Stuck in time? What kind of performance are you looking for? At what cost?

Sorry, I've only dealt with 94+.. have no reason to drop down to speed density mode.

MAF is more forgiving. With a MAF setup you can make minor changes without having to retune all the time. MAP uses look up tables to "guess" at how much air is entering the engine where as a MAF is giving a true reading and can compensate when changes are made to the car (within limits)
