Car is an auto with a TCI 3600 stall and the 2.73 currently. Would like to hear opinions from people who have daily driven this cam and what gear you ran.

This car will be a daily driver (should be cranking it up soon). I heard from an old timer once that a 3.55 was the best street gear you could run. Sounds about right for what I want to do.

Opinions?

Well......it depends .

But......in your case, an F-body with a 3600 stall TC and a 230* cam, I'd do nothing less than 3.23 gears and optimally, something in the range of 3.42 to 3.73 gears.

So.....that 3.55 gear ratio (if available) should be a pretty sweet compromise.

Now.....if the car was a B-body, I'd have to do at least 3.42's and optimally, 3.73's.

Different car.....different needs.

Thanks for the input KW. I made the maiden voyage last night (1 and a half hour cruise) and yeah its definitely not pulling like it should. I partially blame the rear along with a small vacuum leak from the rubber intake. I guess I'll try the 3.55 since its kind of different.
