Hey guys, awhile ago I put a remote start into my Ford Contour. I believe the car had something called PATS that required a signal from the key in order to start. I remember having to buy an additional "PKALL Bypass Module" that simulated the signal that the Ford key gave off and allowed the car to start.

However, this is only my 2nd Chevy and I'm not familiar with the VATS security system. Clearly there is some type of chip or resister in the key. Is there an easy way to get the remote to start to work without needing to keep the key in the car?

I did a little research online and noticed the PLJX module. Is this what I'm looking for?

Thanks guys. By the way, I have a '94 Z28.

I checked out this site and used a voltmeter to give me this reading. Looks like it averaged 682 a couple times, and pretty much in that ballpark:

You should be able to bypass the vats for the switch. And it work fine.
