Ordered a cheap dial indicator and magnetic base/stand from Harbor Freight...$28 shipped!

So, over the next 2 months in between changing diapers and such I can hopefully get the 9" gears set up. I can't wait to get it in the car but its just not a high priority right now.

Dude... Just tell me when you get everything and I will come set it up, and we can install it in a Saturday. Shouldn't be a problem.

I hope you guys don't actually expect precision out of those tools. :p

Chris, if I come down some time this damn century I'll bring anything you need. Though my mitotoyo digimiatc dial indicator does need a new charger. Anyone have a lead maybe? :( I think I have a federal and a starrett indicators sitting downstairs.

Well the indicator came in yesterday so I spent a couple hours yesterday goofing around with the gears.

Got the ring gear mounted on the posi and the pinion support bearing into the case. Posi is now loosely bolted into the housing. I just have to get the pinion bearing pressed the rest of the way on and then figure out how to get the pinion races into the pinion support.

Its an aluminum "daytona" pinion support. The races don't seem like they'll ever fit. I may try boiling the support and freezing the races to see if that will help.
