tony mamo from AFR and and cary at ET performance are getting into a debate on lsX heads with Greg Wold at DART....

hey nick, what do you think about the heavier valve part?

do you think dart is accounting for the fact that alot of us spin to 7000?

That should be a very good thread. Back when TEA was in Bowling Green, KY I spent quite a bit of time talking cylinder heads w/ the owner Brian Tooley. He didn't have a great opinion of Tony... but that was only his opinion. I got a lot of inside industry information from him and the others there along w/ great cylinder head information.

i don't know any of them, but Tony comes accross as my product is superior and it can't be beat. having said that, if the darts don't quite match up as far as power, i will get AFRs

tony is a pretty good guy, if you ask him a serious tech question he is very helpful...
nobody is perfect, but i do think he knows ALOT about this stuff...
that being said, DART has some of the best techs working for them as well...
in the end the real winners will be us, the ls1 owners :D

Valvetrain weight is huge when you get into full out race cars. The less valvetrain weight, the more hp to the wheels. Yeah at that point you are talking a few hp here and there, but thats what it takes when you really look at it. You also have to factor in weight along w/ how strong the stuff is. They are really getting into it here... Much more than just street cars needs... IMO... but its good stuff for sure...

i dont think hp is what they are consirned with, what they are leading on to is that at 7000 rpm 7-8 grams more, with the agressive ramp rates that we ls1 owners use, is gonna cause valve float up top. float effects hp for a little while, then it breaks valve peices off and chews your motor aparts... now if DART is correct and it is only 1-2 grams, then like they said chances are it will effect nothing...
