That's really odd. Every time I try to down load them I get a pop up box for their service. The only options availahle are to accept, and open an account, or cancel. I have trie repeatedly to no avail. I even tried to open an account, that worked but there s still no way to down load your files.

The link you posted (correct one) worked for me. However, it does require the use of popups, while fileswap.com does not. Try turning off any popup blocker or putting Mediafire.com in you exceptions list for popups. This keeps coming up and I dont know what to tell folks. Please let me know if that works.

Bulk-Download Multiple Files and Folders
Do you need to download more than a few files at a time? No problem!
Upgrade to a MediaFire Pro account to gain access to features like Bulk-Download.
Bulk-Download combines all the files and folders you want to download into one easy to download Zip file. That way, all you need to download is that one, saving you tons of time and making downloading things like entire photo galleries or hundreds of work documents a breeze!

The above is part of the pop up that I get when I try to download from the Mediafire site. Beneath that paragraph is a "upgrade or cancel" selection box. neither will get you a down load though

I suspect it says "upgrade" now because I opened an account in order to try and download your files, before, it said "accept".

one final question. When I get my cable, I plug it in to my laptop (after loading the drivers for the cord) and into the car. Will the file automatically open or do I need to do that?

I think you are trying to download an entire folder and that requires an account to do that. Look at the icon next to each item. If it is a blue folder, you cannot download the entire folder for free. Click once on the folder name and it should show you the files and/or any more folders inside. Then download any files within the folder.

You will have to start the Scan9495.exe file. It will not automatically start when you plug in the cable. I suggest creating a shortcut to the scan9495.exe file wherever you put it, then place that shortcut where you can get to it easily (desktop, my documents, etc). Make sure the MALF.csv file is in the same folder with the scan9495.exe file. Of course, you could always put the two files on the desktop and start it by clicking on it there. But this app can created log files and those go in the same folder, so the desktop would get really cluttered fast.

GOT IT!!!! Thanks for the patience. you are correct, I was trying to down load entire folder, by checking the box. When you do that a header descends and the color changes to a brown, any action after that sends you to their sight by way of their pop up.
Just click the folder description/name and it opens to sub files for download.
So I now have a file with a shortcut that contains,
MALF microsoft excel
scan 9495 instructions text document
scan 9495 application

does that look correct to you?

should I remove the instructions?

Not quite there yet. It looks like your shortcut gets you to the folder with the 3 files. Then you would have to click on the scan9495.exe file. You can save a step by making a shortcut to just the scan9495.exe (application) file, then it's just the one click. The instruction file can stay if you need it, it won't hurt anything to be there. But there is now a much more thorough user guide on the same Mediafire site. I just posted it last night.

Ok Gary Doug, thanks. It will be a while before I can try it, I ended up having to tare it down for an opti, lifters and a water pump.

Finally got the scan tool downloaded today. Finishing up mounting my overflow bottle. I had to build a pocket in the fender to fit it. I'll do a hookup this weekend and let you know how it reacts. I am running a 93 LT1 out of a Z28 with a 95 ECM conversion in a 72 Elcamino. It is a 6 speed car so i'll let you know how it reacts.

Yes the ALDL is wired to work tunercats or Actron Scanpro scanner so I am figuring I am good to go there. The setup has been running for a couple years just fine. I just added the LTCC conversion as my last opti (2nd one sice the install 7 years ago) Died. Found out upon inspection it was a knock off version. So opted out for a new delphi unit from pace performace 460.00 and the LTCC from bailey. Also have decided to go wtih TunerPro and log out some data. Also have a Zeitronix wide band 02 I am going to stream in as well and finally get a real good look at where this is all at tune wise and then start making corrections.

GaryDoug - I am most appreciative of your Scan9495 efforts. The user interface and information are exceptionally well thought out.

I have a couple of questions from using the program on a Dell laptop running XP with my stock '94 Corvette. Please don't hesitate to tell me if my problems arise from operator error or are more diagnosis than program issues.

I am using a 12 pin GM OBD1 Cable (USB) from OBD Diagnostics and when I run Scan9495.exe and hit "Connect/Reset" and "Scan", engine parameters appear just fine. So I assume my cable is working and I have the correct driver installed. I advance "Wait" to 500ms or else all parameters bounce up and down so much as to be meaningless (for example, RPM goes from 700rpm to 15000rpm). With "Wait" advanced it works fine and I assume that's the purpose of the "Wait" option.

The "Transmission", "DTC" and "Elect. Faults" panels also work fine. But I get no readings in either the ABS or SIR panels and when I click on ABS scanning both the "ASR Inactive" and "Service ASR" lights appear on the Driver Information Panel although no DTC's show either with Scan9495 or accessing DTC's via the paper clip method.

One other oddity: The "Vehicle Info" panel works fine but "Side Rail Number" is in computer symbols rather than English.

Any thoughts you have would be appreciated and again, thanks for all the effort on Scan9495. If logging my Comm info and sending it to you would be helpful I would be happy to do so. PM me your preferred address.

GaryDoug is the expert on the program, but I will venture a guess. The program was designed around the f-body pcm. While it should work on b-body pcms, I believe the vette pcm has some programing differences that might cause trouble.

I'm a bit surprised it works that well on a Y-body car. The ABS and SIR modules are completely different ,so no way they would work.

As for engine and transmission, there are some differences here and there in the data, but it is about 95% the same. There will not be any Y-body trouble codes from DTC90 to DTC97, nor any oil temperature reading. The engine and transmission "DTC set" counts are not present in the Y-body so they won't work (always off?), and a few Y-body DTC's will not be shown because they are different in the F-body. Also the Y-body pcm can also report OBD2-style trouble codes, and that is not true for the F-body, so there will be none of those. The Y-body definition files (A275/manual and A223/auto, not sure??) that I see do not show a "silence" command for the Y-body, but it is mentioned in the file's description, so I don't know if that is supported or not. If not, and if it is not the same as the F-body, that may explain the instability without adding the Wait time. The Wait time was just provided to keep from overloading some slower pc's and leaving no time for housekeeping stuff. Adding the wait time adds some breathing room for the pc at the cost of a slower scan.

If you want to investigate further the differences, you can download the ALDLstuff.zip file in the "ALDL definitions folder" where you found the scan9495 app files. Use the Index file to find out what Y-car definition file(s) to compare with the A273 (manual) and A274 (auto) files used by this app. Anywhere there is a mismatch, there will be missing data.

Yes please send me the log file from the Comms screen. That might explain some things. Use the email address found in the pdf Scan9495 User Guide file at the top of the first page.

Thanks
Gary

GaryDoug, I see most of your files are for 94-95 LT1 and L32, my question is which of your scan tools will work on a 95 7.4L. Running a howell harness that included the older style 12 pin obd1 port. Just trying to get an idea of which software you think will work best with that ECM. I have currently downloaded WinALDL, TunerPro, and Freescan, but I am waiting on my ALDL -> USB cable to arrive to try them out.

Thanks.

I only created the ones for the LT1 and L32 engines. They are completely different. I think TunerproRT has a mask for the 95 L19 7.4L though. I think it is mask $0D or $31. You could try those, it's free also.
I don't think Freescan will help you. Winaldl is for downloading and uploading the bin file, not diagnostic scanning. But you can use it in conjunction with TunerPro.
