My 93 trans am has started to run very badily when she get hot. I have replaced the ECT (engine cool temp senser) and that made a very small difference. The car is not running hot and at a idle she is smooth. The engine has about 45,000 miles on it as of the first of the year. I have a 383 stroker in a lt1 block. i really am hoping it is not the opty spark because I am building a lt4 now and really dont have the cash to spend on the lt1. please help!!!:dontknow:

1. Are there any codes stored in the PCM?
2. What condition are the O2 sensors in? How old, how many miles?

A lot of cars with bad O2s run poorly when they warm up and enter closed loop mode. PCM reads the bad 02 output and dumps in way too much fuel.

could be the 02's, or a bad FPR. When my FPR went bad, it ran way too rich and backfired and ran like crap when hot.

What exactly do you mean by "running poorly" when it's hot??? Give us a description of what it's doing.

Also, as always, swing by www.speeddensity.org with your 93 and post up.
