Motor out the top......

WITH tranny attached. Have a look. Tranny and all, slid right out. Only "extra" stuff we had to remove was the crank pulley, EGR, and both sides of the driver side motor mount. Even left the water pump on. I'm almost willing to be that it would have come out with the ASM headers attached. Once we figured those things out, the motor popped out in just a couple of minutes. We didn't have to twist it sideways or anything. Straight pluck.

.........I guess I really am serious about fixing this motor/building a new motor.

Running Arizona Speed and Marine headers.

The fuel rails just took a little time with a dremel and a light buff, then some Blue Magic polish.

You should see my spare set of rails that I've actually sanded. :D

ASM's are street legal. They're mids, with emissions hookups and don't relocate the cat. I don't know if they carry a C.A.R.B. number though.
