I was wondering if an lt1 k member will fit in a 2000 trans am without any issues? I am going to be helping a friend swap an lt1 into his trans am is there anything else that would be valuable to know before digging into this?

The 6 mounting holes are in the same place for both the LS1 and LT1 Kmembers. So yes! Why is he swapping an LT1 in an LS car? Curious about the reasoning.

it was a v6 car so thats the reasoning behind it. Cost mostly. Although I would have gone with an ls engine. Even though im an lt guy personally.

What am I going to have to do to make the gauge cluster work? Can I swap an ls cluster into it?

Does any one know if a 94 LT1 out of a transam will drop in and connect the the harness in my 96 Transam without any modifications?

The engine harnesses are different along with the 94 being an obd1 setup versus the 96 being an obd2 setup. Some sensors are set up differently as well. You can swap things over between the two and make it work though.

5.3 or 4.8 hands down. Cheaper and more potential.
