Thanks for any ideas

Usually it's all the bolt ons will get you there. Or you can do head/cam and kill any decent ls1 pretty much.

Except for the LS1's with their own heads/cam and bolt-ons...

Stock against stock, from what I've seen, LT1's are about a second slower than LS1's in the 1/4 mile. You aren't going to pick up a second with headers and gears. My lowly 3rd gen is another second plus faster than stock LS1's.

With an M6, you'd be further handicapped.

Now we'll hear all about the LT1's "superior low-end torque"... :screwy:

Understand I'm not bashing your platform. Just being realistic. A 383 LT1 with ported heads, cam, tuning, gears all matched can be quite fast.
Just do longtubes, 1.6 rr, a bigger tb and open the inlet it butts too, cai, and all the free mods.
All the bolt ons and get the pcm tuned!! You'd be surprised at how much that tune helps
as of now im planning to do a few more bolt ons(tb,lt,cai) and 3.90 gears. and im thinking of buying the tunercat program i like the idea of being able to tune my own car. The car i want to out run is a 01ss automatic with headers being his only mod. does this sound like a good plan?
It's easy to beat an LS1...just get an LS2!
