Hello, I own a 97 trans am that has a horrible belt squeak. I start it up and it squeaks, I spray with belt conditioner, water, wd-40, anything and it doesn't help. I recently put new headgaskets on along with new timing chain and sprockets. With that the alt, power steering, and tensioner were all replaced. My ac has not worked since I owned the car. It sounds like it is coming from the harmonic balancer. I think its probably an alignment issue with the harmonic balancer but I have no clue how to fix that problem. Any advice or thought would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would not rule out your tensioner quite yet. I had a squeak that would not go away. New tensioner, belt, and a few accessories. Squeak lasted for months, until I noticed I had no alternator, and no power steering.

The bolts for the tensioner were causing the issue. One was working its way back out, and the other had broken off at the block and was just hanging out.
