Just for future reference, to save someone some time and frustration.

You need to grind down the a/c comp bracket to clear the LSX block, the oil pressure switch is different (plugs are different), and the balancer needs to be swapped out as the one that comes on the LSX doesn't stick out far enough.

The windage tray also needs trimmed to clear the stock oil pan and a screw in plug needs to be removed on the block to hook the oil cooler to the coolant passages in the block.

The valve covers that come with the engine won't work with the coils, but look really good so you may need to address that if you wish to keep them. Their is also an extra vac port on the drivers side cover in the back you just leave capped.

I'm sure their are a few other odds and ends I'm forgetting, but thats the big stuff.

I'll try to get some pics of the setup up soon.

Coil setup looks good in person too, totally different. Sounds amazing with the new exhaust too.

I'd highly recommend that exhaust for anyone with a 5th gen. Pretty tame when you are just cruising around, no drone at all, then blows your ears out when you stab it. Their is a video in the link.

Doesn't an LS motor come in these things ???
yes. LS3.

but a rod got thrown through the block and grenaded to pieces.

So this is the replacement.

95Z, Another friend of mine and myself did the swap.

95Z did the tuning. runs great.

I did the headers/full 3" exhaust after it was broke in..not fun in a driveway.
