considering ive built both it cost me more money to build an ls1. but dollar to dollar ls1 will make more power. spend 1k on an ls1 and 1k on an lt1 ls1 will beat it , however, an lt1 is like a general SBC so if (like it says) money is not limited lt1's will beat an ls1. My.02 and besides lt1 bodies look better.

i hear there is a lack of heads available for the LT-1 my friend is trying to find something aside from the standard LT-4 head. and ive seen what happens to an LS-1 when you put even the most basic boltons on the bitch. i vote LS-1, what other engine do you know that gains 50 hp by cleaning out the ashtray in the car? lol

Ls1's respond great to mods, giving in the gods engine status but i have done so many tihngs to ls1's helped friends and when building my own engine i found that lt1's are easier to work on IMO.

LS1 much easier to work on
Both the LS1 and LT1 are half under the windshield...that doesn't sound easy to me!

Yeah unfortunately the LS1 is superior, but that makes sense since it's newer. I would sure hope GM didn't digress when creating a new vette motor  I dislike it when LS1 guys act like its total god compared to everything else though...the main advantage is only the better heads over the LT1, and no opti.

Ill take an iron block before id take an aluminum!
So true for ultra high HP applications. I think the LS1 responds better to basic mods just because the heads flow so dang well.

Keep in mind the LT4 head was designed with lessons learned from the LS1 development program.

stock for stock though, LT1 block vs. LS1 block, gimme LS1 all the way. All aluminum, 6-bolt mains, better oiling, etc.. It's a no-brainer.
