Checking in here, I'm an Administrator on www.speeddensity.org and a member of CamaroZ28, LS1Tech, LS1, Project Trans Am, NJFBOA, EFA, and Z28.

For those that know me, Hi. For those that don't:

I've got two 93 Trans Am's. One's a tempermental biotch and the bane of my existence (the black one) and the other is a simple head/cam car that's fairly reliable and fun to drive.

Howdy all!!

Ill take that black one off your hands for what say 1,000 bucks lol.
You want that in the million pieces it's in right now?? lol

I've got the heads off, they're on the way back to me from Golen Engine Service after getting the manifold cut and checked for a good seal at the heads. The headers are on my living room floor having just been received from Jet-Hot with a fresh coating, and there's the rest of the motor sans shortblock at various points around my car in the garage.

The more torn down the better for me.
I'd be half tempted if it wasn't for a personal vendetta to get the turd running. Which could be in a couple of weeks if we finally got a good seal on the manifold to head.

I remember you from our missfire wild goose chase days at Camaroz28 LOL.
Yup, and still chasing mine. We found that my intake manifold wasn't getting a good seal to my heads. Working on that, major kudos go to Chad @ Golen Engine Service for recognizing my problem after a short conversation with my tuner (Alvin from PCMForLess). He just sent my heads and manifold back to me this monday saying they made a couple of cuts and I should have an outstanding seal there now. I pray that's the only issue.

Man that sucks you are still dealing with the issue. I think I would have sold the car by now, which I almost did anyway.
Trust me, I've come VERY close to parting her out. But I sat back and looked at it. I've got more than $27K wrapped up in that car (not including the purchase price) and a lot of time and effort. It would be too much of a defeat and too easy of a way out to just get rid of it.

What ended up being your issues?

Welcome to the board man! Nice to see you over here.
Wow, they weren't lying. You really did sell the Z and get an STi. You suck, but cool car.

Well, part of it embarrasing. The original "miss" was nothing more than vibrations from the cam lope. In an attempt to diagnose I put an autozone optispark on the car and that opti was cutting out when the car got warm.

So I thought I had this huge issue in the wiring or something, traced EVERYTHING with a multimeter, and finally decided to put another new GM opti on the car and that fixed the dying problem. Then scoped it and realized there wasn't an ignition issue.
