Why in the hell would I change plugs and wires with stock manifolds? :thumbdown

Does anyone have any pointers for the passenger side? I'm about to lose my friggin' mind over here.

Yeah y pipe will definitely be a last resort, I'm hoping the starter will be enough for me since I have a single cat car.

manifold itself takes 15 mins to unbolt and move out of your way...

Guess what? On a single cat auto car you gotta drop the y to drop the starter! This is quite possibly the worst designed engine I have ever seen. Fortunately, I can push it forward enough to reach number 8, just waiting for the parts store to open so I can get a really short extension. Not sure if I'll be able to stretch enough to get number 6 from the bottom. If I get those 2 done, number 2 shouldn't be much of a problem even though I'm working blind with that one.

I'd like to know/see how you did that by yourself. I'm 6'5" 280 myself. But regardless I got them done with the help of a friend.

I plan on doing headers, but I just don't have the money for it right now. I have a nitrous kit here waiting to go on so I definitely wanted to get plugs and wires done, the previous owner had bosch platinums in it...ewwwwww

And no I did not pay full price for the nitrous kit before someone says 'Well how'd you have enough money for that?" :p

We are in the same boat got my wires and plugs and a coil friday afternoon. So i decide to tear it apart got everytihng done and now im stuck. The plug wires for the first 3 plugs on passenger are geing a bitch. I can see the hole i have to slide them to to get to my opti but i slide the wire to it and i cant get it from the bottom.

What makes it worse is i was almost there to haivng the money to get the y pipe, and extensions and pay teh exhaust shop cuz i have headers under my bed. BUT nooooo my wires had to go NOW...

I didn't even route my passenger side wires in the factory locations, I went an entirely different route. In order to go the stock route you have to move/remove the power steering pump.

It ain't that bad

All you need is some multiple extension lengths, 5/8 spark plug socket, a swivel and a flex rachet. I had to remove the alternator for #2, but that isn't hard. Getting a majority under the car is much easier. All the wires can be routed in the stock places except for cylinder 7. Couldn't get that so I zip tyed it out of the way. Cylinder 8 call a friend with skinny arms and it can be got from underneith the car. :streetrac

Depends on the person..because I have all of the above...lol. And 8.5mm wires routed the same way on the passenger side would require the removal/loosening of the power steering pump. Actually did number 8 from top and bottom. I couldn't drop my starter all the way thanks to my y pipe, so I put the socket and ratchet on the spark plug and made sure it stayed on while he turned it from the top, lol.
