So I was blasting down the 401 here and showing 140 thinking wow this thing really handles well... but only keeping up with traffic....

So on a lonely road I used the gps to show me that I am really doing a slower speed than my car shows.

I would assume that it is rear end gear change?

Thoughts?

Thanks very much.

If rear gear change has happened, you need to program pcm to account for that.

But, GM speedos are not know to be precision instruments.

Both speedometers crapped out on our mid 2000's chevy work trucks and would say random speeds all the time or would go down to zero while cruising on the interstate lol. I"m not sure what is involved in the fix on the 4th gen f bodies but on the newer trucks the whole gauge pod has to be replaced or fixed. There are companies on eBay that you can ship your gauge pod to and they will just send you a rebuilt one.
