The cooler t-stat lets the car run cooler therefore it doesn't pull as much timing out and that means more power, plus the heads will be cooler which means it's less prone to detonation. It would be wise to get the ecm programmed to turn the fans on earlier if you put the cooler t-stat in. If you ever put headers on the car or dual it out you'll need the knock module. I could tell a big difference after I put the KM in.
