My 95 trans am LT1 is bone stock besides a tb bypass so i maybe have 278-280 horses.
I raced a 350z at 45 and pulled several car length's on him. Then i raced an infiniti G35 just Saturday night. And he gunned it before i did. (I didn't know we were racing) we were doing 60 ish and it was like as soon as the pedal hit the floor i went passed him. And it was a 2 door so it has about 285 horsepower stock.
How is my basically STOCK auto transmission trans am beating these fast cars?
Could it have work done to it internally i dont know about?

350z's are slow bro, idk about the g35 but 350's are slugs compared to the lt1/lt4 there are 4 in my city and they suck lol

Prob a 13-14sec car, so I am not surprised.
I thought g35s were fast lol, they sound good at WOT, IMO.

If it was on a street and not a track, the G35 driver could have the common sense to let off the gas as he reached 60mph. Most people "with a brain" will only sprint to or slightly above the speed limit on the street.
The speed limit was 60 and changed to 75 on the hwy to hickory. There were NO cars it was almost 1 a.m. AND IF HE HAD A BRAIN HE WOULDN'T HAVE GOT BESIDE ME AND GUNNED IT.

I had a 350Z. Best I could pull on the drag with stock everything was 13.1. The Z is not meant to go straight. It is fun to drive and decent straight line but it is not a straight line car.

The answer is simple. The V8 has a broader power curve. All you're comparing is peak HP rating. Thats great for dyno queens, but doesn't necesarily make for a faster car.
Then you also have the HP rating issues. From what I've seen, all 4th gens were under rated to make the Corvette look stronger. Imports tend to round up.
