My fav transmission that i have used is an m-22

my most hated that i have used has to be a th350. considering i went through 2 of them before.

what about you guys?

I have to say the 700R4/4L60E was good to me, I had 3 different cars with that trans and only most recently have I had one fail.

After only 5 mos with the T-56 I don't know that I'm qualified to offer an opinion but the 6th gear sure is nice vs the few T-5 cars I've driven.

im a big fan of a built 700r4 but stock th350's just wont cut it for me.

my 4L60E took a ton of shit in my old Z28 and kept on ticking. I've liked what I've felt of the T-56. It's a versatile tranny also. The 5-speed in my WRX is probably the worst tranny I'll ever use.

my favorite is definatly the T-56, the worst is probably the 4t-60 but since that doesnt come in an f-body you guys wont ever have to worry about it.

Yea people can diss a 4l60e but in my bird i did notihng but tear teh car up and it stuck with me but i fear mt trans is on it way or will be when i get my stuff put on ..

i really like the T-56 as well as the S2K standard. my 4L60E is good so far, but its supposed to be a hard tranny to build up reliably

Haven't found one I love yet, but I can tell you I've ended up hating every T5 I've broken over the years. lol

I've heard the S2k shifter is one of the best factory shifters out there, I don't know anybody that has one though.

I like 95-97 T-56's. I think those are the years built to handle 450 ft-lbs? I've heard that the T-56's in LS1s are actually a bit weaker than their LT1 counterparts, because they came from a different manufacturer. ???

A little off topic but some kid at the locla gas station other night was in a brand new S2K tryed to show off (keep in mind there are 5 f-bodies parked) and rode his clutch sooo bad on the take off i was embarassed for him.

Word from tranny builders is that the Borg-Warner T-56s in the LT1-powered F-cars has a few stronger key parts than the Tremec T-56 in the LS1-powered cars. I wouldn't know though, I've never even owned one yet.

i had heard that in 93, a small number of camaros and firebirds got the viper version with the better internals cause GM ran out and had to buy a few from dodge. dunno how true it is though

I haven't had a bad experience with a manual trans yet... Except for the slave blowing in my T56. The stock clutch has withstood an amazing amount of abuse and still isn't slipping.

Well...considering I have only owned two different types of transmissions, a T56, and a Turbo 400...I don't really have one that I hate yet. Both were very good. My favorite out of the two is the T56 though.

The S2000 does have an awesome shifter is just buttery smooth. I really like the RX-8s shifter to, when your shifting at 9000 rpms you have to be confident and with that shifter you always are. I really like the t-56 too. I hate absolutly hate the 4l60s been through 2 of em.
