My 95 Vette has 98k on it, had stored it for the winter, yesterday tried to start it and it normally cranks over instantly like it should, but it barely did, which is odd. Battery at 12.2 volts, but tossed the charger on it for a bit and tried again, very similar experience of hard cranking, but got it running. It idled horribly, but smoothed out a bit. I took it around the block and it ran rough, almost stalling then finally did stall getting back into the driveway. Popped the hood since smoke was coming out of cowl area. I found oil on the right side of the motor and determined it came out of the dipstick tube. I got a new PCV valve today and replaced the old one, but the old valve rattled like it should, no gunk or anything, the lines seemed fine, and I tried it again with the same result as yesterday. I plan to do a compression test over the weekend, but any help would be appreciated, just seems extremely odd to have this just happen out of the blue.
