The clutch pedal started sticking in the G8. Took it to the dealership and they came up with it being a bad clutch and wouldn't cover it under the power train warranty. They wanted $2k for a new clutch. I laughed and said I could get an aftermarket clutch that I know won't go bad in 30k miles for half that. Just 15 min on the internet and I found the problem. The fluid gets dirty quickly and needs to be changed often.
Since changing the fluid there hasn't been a problem. Probably find the new Camaro's will have this issue too.

Anyway that could cause slow clutch release too?

2nd gear grind gets really old in the 5th gens. Might be worth a shot to drain the fluid.

Yes it does. Happens on all of the LS series cars. I change the clutch fluid with the oil.

I could make a difference.
I didn't even drain it. Just sucked it out of the reservior with a baster. Added new fluid, pumped the clutch, and repeated the process until it looked clean.

I never had to do this on my 4th gen.
