It would be inside your ECM (car's computer).

Yes that's it.

If fans are starting up quickly, have you done a code read. 93 uses paper clip to connect dlc terminals to flash codes.

Just because check engine light isn't on, doesn't mean you don't have codes. So before getting new chip, see if something is wrong that is kicking fans on.

For help, we have the 93 factory service manual in the 4th gen section. Look for thread titled "GM service manuals".
