just bought a 350 th350 swapped 80 Camaro now. I am having an issue with the carburetor. It starts and runs good as long as I don't give it more then half throttle it runs ok. when I give it more then half throttle it once it idles at 2500 rpm. If I shut the car off and start it back up it idles fine again. I replaced the throttle springs cause they were stretched pretty bad... It has a holly with an electronic choke. someone just wired the choke open...

Can you give us more details on what type of Holley it is? The "LIST" number is stamped on the front of the choke tower. That tells everything about what it is (at least, when it left the factory). A couple of pics would help, too.

If the choke is wired OPEN it will stumble until you get SOME warmth into it. 4160 series Holleys are pretty quick to warm up . Q-jets and TQ's you can forget it until they are FULL warm if no choke.
