I picked up a 98 TA that is in need of a lot of work. After replacing the front upper and lower control arms I am having tire rub on the drivers side only. It is making contact to the rear of the wheel well in front of the drivers of the door. The wheels and tires are larger than factory. 18x9.5 285-40-18's. I was told they will clear at this size and so far 3 of the 4 do just fine. I know it needs an alignment and some adjusting on the drivers side but I am not sure how to move the wheel and tire forward and backward in the wheel well. The contact to the wheel well is too much to drive.
Any non sarcastic advice would be appreciated. I have searched the web but haven't found anything really useful.

Have you thought about using a spacer to bring the wheel out a tad?

Or finding a set of standard wheels? Lots of 4th gens being parted out.
