To be more accurate I have been noticing since I bought the car than when driving in overdrive and I floor it. It doesn't seem to drop a gear and take off. Is there an adjustment somewhere for this. Sorry if I'm being too vague

93 cars came with the 700R4 non computer controlled transmission. It has a tv cable from trans to throttle body which could be out of adjustment.

Do a google search on 700r4 tv cable adjustment and you'll find instructions on how to do it.

Also check that torque converter lockup is unlocking when you floor it.

All the results show an adjustment with a carb. Can I get a point in the right direction

The mechanism that adjusts the tv cable is the same for the throttle body of your 93 fuel injected car.

Forgot about this but we have the 93 factory service manual, available for download in this section. look for thread titled "GM service manuals". I'm sure it will give the correct proceedure for your 93.
