I'm searching for a water temp. sensor that will screw into a 92 LT1 head and will work with a 1977 water temp. gauge. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you mean for factory temp gauge? Original tenp sensor will screw into the LT1 head the same way - that's what I did. The LT1 heads - both iron heads for Caprice and aluminum heads for Camaro have a threaded hole with a plug in it between cylinder 1 and 3 and between 6 and 8. unscrew the plug and screw in your sensor.

The thread size on my 1992 LT1 is 3/8" pipe and all early 350 heads have a 1/2" pipe thread. So the sensor for the early head will not screw into the LT1 head. I am wanting to use the original gauge in my 77 corvette.

OK, I started from a 305 with factory gauges in my 84 El Camino when I swapped in the LT1. That temp sensor was a direct fit - kept the factory gauge set. You might try that temp sensor.

From the research that I've done it appears that eighties sensors have a different ohm scale than the seventies. I may try an eighties sensor and use a resistor in line to approximate the readings I get from my seventies sensor. Thanks for your input.
