2002 SS 1LE Package

My name is Ed and I'm new here. I have a 2002 SS with every SLP otion including the 1LE Suspension. I had a gentleman call me and tell me that the SLP Package is the same as the B4C Police package and only 125 of these cars were built. Is this true. Did Chevrolet send the ILE cars to SLP with the B4C package or did SLP install the 1LE.

Is this package as rare as he said?

Hi Ed,

In 2002 the 1LE was not a GM option, instead it's referred to as a "2nd sticker" option, where it was added after the fact by SLP. I'm not sure of any relation between the B4C (aka police pkg) and the 1LE. There were 708 total B4C cars built in 2002, 125 of which were 6 speed cars.

Either way, yes your car is rare, although good luck getting actual production numbers since SLP engineering has unfortunately gone out of business. There is still a company called SLP, they sell performance parts, but were not the company that did the work on the SS models

you can contact slp they are still in business, they just changed their name from slp engineering to slp performance, heres their site slponline.com
