That's really impressive. What are the differences in LT1s in firehawks verses base z28s and firebirds?

Thanks, I am pleased. I was thinking right at 300 with the mods done, but I will take 309 rwhp. :)

The 93 SLP Firehawk is rated at 300 flywheel hp vs the 275 hp in the TA and Z28. The claim is 0-60 in 4.9 and a 13.5 @ 103 mph in the 1/4. There was a road test done by Motor Week in 93 and this is what they got.

EdHamburger (SLP) said back in the day that the 300 hp rating was 300 big horses :)

The 93 Firehawk was faster 0- 60 than the 93 Corvette. That is a fact. It actually has that on the 93 Firehawk sales brochure. SLP Firehawks were also modified at a seperate factory called SLP or Street Legal Performance.

Some say the programing was changed to a more agressive tune from SLP but from what I have heard there is no proof of this ever happening. Cams are the same also in the 93 firehawks that are in the same yr TA and Z28.

As far as I know the 93 Firehawk LT1 motors were the same in the TA and Z28 cars. The M6 transmission was geared slightly different in 93. The extra 25 hp came from the ram air package which in 93 was only offered on the Firehawks. They came with 17X8.5 wheels and a 275 40/17 tire which helped in acceleration and cornering. I beleive the TA and Z28 came with 16X8 wheels. 245/50/16 tires.

In 94 the Firehawks were offered with a enhanced free flowing exhaust that added 15 hp bringing the total to 315 flywheel hp over the standard 275 hp in the TA and Z28.
