Just picked up a 98 firebird with a running issue give me some ideas please

the car is a 1998 red 3800 firebird that seems to have a fuel problem. the previous owner said it ran fine when he parked it 5 or 6 months ago. if you put the gas pedal to wot (the floor) it will run (like crap) at very low rpms for a moment or two. you can here the fuel pump cycle when you turn the key. any ideas. car is automatic also thanks

i know changing plugs is like changing engine in the 3800. my brother had a green 98 fully loaded took me a week to change the plugs. found out your not to reuse the aluminum covers on the engine end of the wire.

Guess that means mine won't get changed for a long long time....

I've never had a fun time doing the first plug change on any 3800. Other than the boot not coming off easily plug changes aren't that bad though on the F Bodies

Mine wasn't quite that bad in 04 when I changed them for the pulley swap. I was worried I was gonna lose a few wires though
My Taylors have been fine since I got the boot protectors.

changed the plugs out and still the same. (wasn't as bad as it was on my bro's car) maybe a sensor went bad. its seems to have fuel pressure. (anyone know how much fuel pressure a 3.8l engine should be getting??) I'm going to get a fuel pressure gauge this week. could i hook up a obd2 scanner and check it out without it running??
