issue after changing some sensors!?!?!

I have 97 firebird 3.8 and it was throwing a code for the intake air temp sensor the replacement is bigger and looks different but I installed it anyways. I also replaced the idle control valve cuz it looked really dirty and carb cleaner didn't help it. So after I installed em my car took a couple cranks to start (I figured to learn the new sensors) and then it ran smooth. After idling for a bit I noticed it smokes when I rev the engine up. Could replacing the sensors have caused this? Also replaced my fuel filter which I don't believe that has anything to do with it.
