Wtf

Went to tune my Z28 this morning and C.A.T.S. said the wrong message was sent. Now I have no communication with the pcm and the session light is flashing constant. I can't find anything on this. What happened? What can I do?

I suggest contacting tunercat and asking them. Is your z28 a 94-95? Did you buy a GM obd 1 cable to connect car's aldl to usb port of PC? If your car is a 95, that uses 16 pin aldl connector, you still need an obd 1 cable with 16 pins.

Did you look in the tunercat program to see which comm port program needs to be hooked to to work? If comm port not at right port #, cable won't work. If you installed software of cable automaticly, it will select drivers that can brick your chip in cable. Install drivers manually and use version V24 or older.

Did you purchase the $EE definition file to read 94 & 95 lt1 pcm? Program won't read contents of pcm without it.

I've tuned before with no issues, I was adjusting the fan cut on/off temps when this happened. The car starts and shuts off almost immediately. The ses light flashes constant. Tunerpro rt, eehack, and scan94/95 all say they cannot connect/no communication available

I think it's time to go to the gearhead efi forum. They specialize in fuel injection & pcm tuning. Also contact tunercat.

Have you tried disconnecting your car's battery for a couple of minutes to clear the memory? This might help.

However, it sounds to me like a problem with the flashable chips in your pcm. If that's the case, new chips or a new pcm would be the only cure. But since I'm not at the knowledge level that guys at tunercat & gearhead efi forum, try them for the correct answer.

The guy that wrote the EEHack program, called "Steveo", hangs out at the gearhead efi forum. He also occasionally comes on here. But you have a better chance of getting his attention @ gearhead efi.
