|KeithP||I'm Keith. I did automotive repair for 17 years and have been on the custom side for the last 8. I have a 1996 Impala SS for my daily driver. i just picked up half of a 1998 Trans Am that i intend to build for my daughter. I'm going to be looking for parts. Lol. That TA seems more like a unicorn than a car some days.|

|[email protected]||I'm Chris. With a 94Z28 6 speed fresh rebuild. 20 over piston, edelbrock lt1 heads, BBK short headers, no cats magnaflow. It's pretty much all new even though it probably didn't need it. Original cam and wanting to replace it with something better with what I have. Any ideas? Car is great just looking for suggestions.|

Hey everyone, my name is Brett, I live in Houston and have kept a 97 Trans Am WS6 for about 11 years now.
Drove the car every day for 8 years (thru 2015) and have had awful ignition problems ever since which motivated me to get a 2nd car. I'd really like to get this car running again so I can get back to driving it every day. It's completely stock but with all the parts its taken, it gets newer every year haha.
I've done a lot of maintenance to it & it's never been to a shop for repairs since I've owned it. I also have factory service manuals if anyone wants a pic from them.
I'd really like some help diagnosing the ignition problems I mentioned before. I'm stuck with the opti signal getting to the ICM (which tested good) but not sure where to go next.

|ReddawayLT1||Hey there, my name is Lee, 37, Army Combat veteran from upstate New York. This may be a bit long, but just want to give a little background into my engine build background. Have owned many automobiles in my life, all to which have been fair to heavily modified/tuned..to name a few of my favorites...'69 Buick Wildcat w/455 rocket - my first car at 16, stock other than headers and straight pipes... '89 Dodge Diplomat AHB Police interceptor w/615hp, 408 stroker, an A833 & a 8.75" 3.73 posi rear...'94 Ford Mustang Cobra w/550hp, 351 stroker, a T56 6 speed & 8.8" 3.23 posi rear. Lately been into small 2 door sport cars, currently in a '97 chevy cavalier Z24 with a fully built and supercharged 2.4 LD9, haven't had it on the dyno yet, but hoping for around 260 hp. Haven't built a rwd V8 GM car as of yet, so currently looking for a mid to late 90's LT1...have heard nothing but great things about these 350 ci engines...not looking to get too crazy as in the LS engines, just want a good daily that can seat my 5 person family, decent mpg, and between 400-500 hp - mainly want to slip into more of a 'sleeper'...so F bodies are out. Not a big Cadillac fan, so been looking into and researching the B body Caprice and Roadmaster. Haven't chosen yet, but the Buick seems to be the better choice so far...|

|Frito||Hi, I'm Brian from Texas. I drive an 80' Trans am with an LT1 +4l60e from a 94' z28. I dreamed of owning a 2nd gen TA for years, and ended up buying this one in October. It's my first LT1. Over the past few months I've been slowly fixing things and trying to figure out everything about my car. This site has been helping a lot.|

Hello from Kansas. I have an '84 El Camino into which I swapped a '94 Roadmaster engine/transmission about ten years ago. At the time a site called LT1 Tech was very helpful.
Now the engine is making an ugly (expensive) knocking sound, so it time to look into rebuilding/upgrading it (green light from Momma :-) ). Thinking about stroking it to 383 in, street cam, improved Optispark (like MSD), Aluminum heads, maybe a few other little touches. This looks like the place to get the straight word on how to do it.

|StoneColdLT1||What's up everyone. I've owned a 94 Formula for almost 2 months now and just got around to getting on the forum. Love the car, black on black leather, 6 speed, and pretty much unmolested which I like. It's out of commission right now, just finishing up fixing the common intake manifold leak as well as a fresh, water proofed, and vacuum converted optispark. Should be on the road next week. Long term goals include to lower about an inch with some beefed up sway bars and a Magnaflow catback system by next year, a stronger rear axle (not sure which one yet) and some sub-frame connectors the year after that to get ready for a 383 stoker I'd like to build.|
