my ˋ96 WS6 daily driver

after selling my BMW 125 diesel it was time to go back to a car that fascinates me and which should drive me anytime/anywhere. On my list where LS1 Camaro, LS3 Camaro and this ˋ96 WS6.

In the end I bought the WS6. lotˋs of fun...

today I was working on the t-top-mechanism, had to oil them because they could only be opened with lots of force...
later I changed the front turns to clear ones and changed the bulbs to switchback leds.

Glad you chose the lt1 based engine car. As years go by, they have tended to be the forgotten stepchild to the ls based siblings. Keep that old iron rolling.

yeah, i know what you‘re talking about. in the 3rd gen world everybody says: ls-swap it...
ok, right now it costs a few $ because it seems that it stood for some time but fortunately the parts are way less expensive than for the BMW that i had before. brake service and probably change the flowmaster to a Borla muffler. we will see and hear...

In the meanwhile new brakes (original parts) are in along with a new waterpump and opti. shaft seal (is this the correct word?) was changed in this moment because oil was dripping out a bit. New window-motor on driverside.
Next steps will be H4-conversion and some LEDs for map-light and stuff. Double-DIN-Radio and new speakers because the old ones are beginning to crackle.

Yesterday I installed LED's from superbrightleds in the map-lights, dome light und glovebox. finally some light when I open the door.
The map-light where a bit a PITA because I left the mirror on the windshield.
Today the H4 headlights should be in the mail: Some work for weekend...

Your doing a good job of getting thins done. The interior lighting has always been poor on my 90. And better headlights would make it much easier to drive at night.

short update:
Those Hella's are far better than this old stuff that was in there before. Got me through winter nights without a problem. Sure nothing near HID's or LED's.

Double DIN-Radio from Pioneer is in now, with working steering wheel-controls!
Dronemaster changed to a muffler from Borla.
added drl-function with Triton v6 from vleds, so I don't have to pop the headlights everytime I drive the car. (driving with lights in the front is the law over here...)

Glad the headlights worked out well. I need to go the the led lights. My night vision is really poor.

But now you can move on to the next improvement or problem fix.

haha, I really hope that there are no more problems to fix in the near future. Forgot to add that the fuel pump went out one week ago. Glad I was only about 200meters from the mechanic...

I was thinking about led headlights too, but only those with the projector lens. don't like the styling of the others with full of small leds. Probably next time when they are on sale...
