I have the same problem. I just bought the car. '95 firebird Formula with rebuilt engine and mild cam. Rebuilt t56 with new clutch. I'm assuming the clutch is aftermarket heavy duty. When the car is hot, it's a pain to get it into reverse or 1st gear. I just ordered an adjustable master cylinder from Hawk 3rd gen. I hope this fixes the problem. I'll let you know when I get it installed. Hopefully by the end of the week.

My 93 releases on the higher end of halfway through the pedal travel on what I believe is a stock clutch.

You guys know not to ride clutch just let it out.
and dont use clutch to hold your self at light or on hill.
usually sombodies wifes been driving the car like that.
Or If you race and being not a full race car riding the clutch for the best et.
And this is a big one.
stage 234 clutches naturally wear all the time slipping untill they are warmed up.
And wear out fast being daily driver.
Stage 1 or heavy duty is all I will put in.
Stage one is what came in the camaros.
