Code scan & data scan will catch a bad map and many other problems. Map voltage when idling should be between 1 & 2 volts. Mine was showing 4.72 volts, essentially not working at all. On a speed density car map is very important because of no maf sensor.

Keep in mind that not just sensors cause problems. Wiring & connector problems cause much havoc in older cars.

Yup, backfire described in the first post would mess up MAP sensor. When you run the scan, mschmidt, I'd recommend checking that line first.

Does anyone have the drivers for the Red Devil River cable? I don't have a CD drive to install them. Can someone email them to me at [email protected]

I think I just need the .exe file off the CD. If someone has the CD, please load it and email me the file! zip it first perhaps. Red Devil will not return my email or voicemail.

So I hooked it all up and idled the car and took a scan. See below. She's a mess! What to do next? Should I clear codes and see what comes back? Do a datalog while driving?

Re-post your images as attachments or re-create them larger. Can't see what the DTC's are

Well, there's a great starting point. Start testing/troubleshooting all of those issues. The biggest one I see on that list it its telling you there's an issue with the opti signal. That being said, there's a lot going on. Maybe start with a thorough check of the engine harness for chewed wires, then check your engine & body grounds.

Here are the other 3. I also zipped the idle datalog and attached.

OK, I will double check. I did just replace the Opti with a new AC Delco unit and the car behaves the same before and after. Do I clear codes next? How do I dig further into if the Opti is bad?
