Lf ABS channel cannot move 1995 w/ TCS

I own a 1995 Trans Am with TCS/ABS and over 200k miles. Recently I started getting ABS Inop/TCS off. All speed sensors and grounds are fine. Haven’t bled the ABS module in awhile but did a full brake bleed at each wheel a few months back. My scan9495 shows code 44 Left Front Channel cannot move. I can reset it and get the light to stay off after driving. The problem usually happens on start up but is intermittent. All electrical connections are okay. What are the next steps in resolving this? Anyone had this issue. Sometimes the code only displays after pressing the brake pedal immediately after starting and I can feel slight resistance in the pedal which triggers the code. Any help will be much appreciated.

First, go to the following link and download the 95 service manual. It will have a complete section on antilock brakes starting on page 5E1-1. On page 5E2-110 will be the code 44 explanation. My Files

According to manual, code 44 means that left front ABS channel will not move. This can be caused by stuck ABS motor, seized ABS hydraulic modulator, or stuck ESB,(expansion spring brake) which is a spring in the ABS motor that returns motor to home position. This means the ESB returns motor to stand by position.

I suggest starting on page 5E1-1 and reading how ABS system works. Then go to code 44 on page 5E2-110 and reading what parts are affected by code, why code sets, and troubleshooting. Unfortunately, a GM tech 1 or tech 2 scanner is needed to do many of the tests. You can buy a China clone tech 2 on Amazon for around $300.

I have the scan9495 program and an ADL cable which mimics everything the Tech 1/2 scanner can do. I ran a bunch of tests. I'm going to try a full bleed of the system and then focus on the solenoid. Thanks for your help.

The diagnosis in the service manual led to a bad motor or modulator. Ended up buying a used module from TA CREATIONS for $40 and swapping it in. Works perfectly with no codes.
