First race of the season this weekend
Friday night was the first points race of the season. I'm running in a Friday and Saturday series, plus there was another "specialty" series that ran Sunday.
Friday night I couldn't get a green light in time trials. In eliminations, I tried too hard to correct that in the first round of eliminations, cut a poor (but green) light, and lost (the car slowed, too.)
Saturday I went out, but it got rained out.
Sunday was a series race called "King Street" - have to run mufflers, have to have bumpers on the car, have to have license plates & insurance, must run 12.75 or better (remember our 5800' elevation), no lettering on the paint, etc. I have to spray it to get that quick at altitude, so I gave it a 50 shot this time. Made it to the semi-finals (6 rounds to win).
Funny thing, in points now, I'm two rounds out of first place in both series - only difference is they finished the race today (I'm tied for 2nd place), but on Friday it got late and they only ran two rounds; so while I'm only 2 rounds out of first place, I'm tied for 42nd place (which is also last place).
Lots of season left, we'll see how it goes.

I also ran a "no-box" class on Sunday w/o spray. Went out to a better light in the 3rd round with a .011 light, lost by 0.0014 second.
Here's a video of the first round of that class. Remember, this is at 5800' elevation (take your sea level ET and multiply it by .9276 to see what you'd run up here) and a 15 mph head wind. I had a 0.050 light to his 0.117, plus he was off his dial, so I was able to back off quite a bit and still take the stripe.

It's been pretty hit & miss in the 4 weeks since. We've been rained out half the time. We did get a full race in on the 9th, and I made it to the semi-finals. Last Friday was another rain-out after the first round of one class, but we did get the race in between raindrops on Saturday. I was running two classes, bulbed out first round in one, but had the win light in my lane each round in the other one. Moved me to the top in season points in that class, at least for now.

Thanks. Just got the prize money check in the mail, best one I've had in awhile.
