I was planning to electric supercharge my car for a while but the problem is that a 5.7-6.8 liter engine just eats too much air for an electrical system to move.

You can put a leaf blower on a 1.5 liter and maybe get a gain but not a 400 cubic inch engine, it would take at least 50 horsepower to get 5lbs of boost, which requires a good 100lbs worth of batteries and a tri-motor setup like in the image above for a significant performance gain over a significant run time.

But there is a dodge viper 8.0liter on the road somewhere that Thomas Knight supercharged with his electric system, so it can certainly be done. However a conventional system is better for most people.

How bout this deal, anyone using a system like this? I like the setup but 370 rwhp seems a little low, but I suppose thats on a stock engine thats not bad.
