4l60E problem PLEASE HELP

Hey Guys, I have a 94 formula. No check engine light problem. does not slip or do anything weird, it just starts in second gear, will look into it more, what could cause this

got any codes. Some don't light ses. There are several codes that cause trans to default to 3rd gear.

the car drives in 2nd and 3rd . Id I put the car in L or 2 I get the lower gear. If I put the car in 3 or 4 I get the higher gear, nothing slips, so when I start the car and put it in drive, it starts in the higher gear, if I floor it, it never changes out of the gear unless I manually lower it from 4 or 3 to 2 or L. I am sending it to my Auto electrician tommorrow, any IDEAS??

Something is causing it to go into fail safe. Being a 94 AZ can't read it and you will have to have someone read the code to figure out exactly whats going on.

You can get under and check the main plug to the trans, if its not getting power it will go into fail safe, but chances are its something else.

Okay, My solenoid was bad, valvebody had to be taken off and cleaned, and the wiring was redone because it was wrong from previous shop. He charged $350, alot of work, will see if it is out of safe mode and running tommorrow. This guy is a pro , Patoni Electric Dallas TX! Thank You

Car was checked out, How do I reset this thing to get out of safe mode. Is a 94 4l60e the only year that will change out on this car.

Is there a way to reset the tranny from safe mode. My mechanic checked everything out, I need to get a replacement transmission from a 1994 z28. I have a 94 pontiac formula. Is it the same 4l60e.

It goes into safe mode for a reason, if its still doing it then their is still a problem. Their is no way to make it stay out of safe mode if it is detecting the problem unless you fix the problem. Once its fixed it will go back to normal. You could try resetting the PCM if you think everything is fixed to get rid of the code though.
